The service
Hard conditions for a floor
Cold rooms are hard on floors. Temperatures swing every time the door opens, condensation keeps surfaces damp, trolleys and pallet jacks run the same lines all day, and the floor has to be cleaned often without breaking down.
Most coatings need the right conditions to go down and cure, so an existing cool room usually has to be emptied and brought up to a workable temperature while the work is done. That makes timing the biggest part of the plan: when the room can come offline, and for how long.
We'll talk through how the room is used, including its temperature, traffic and cleaning, and recommend a system and a schedule that works around your stock.

Agree when the room can be emptied and switched off, and for how long.

Empty & condition
The room is cleared and brought up to a temperature the coating can go down in.

Prep & repair
The slab is ground and repaired, with extra attention where trolleys run.

The system goes down with texture set for a floor that's often damp.

Cure & restart
The coating cures before the room is cooled down and restocked.

Does the cool room need to be turned off?
In most cases, yes. Coatings need the slab and the air within a workable temperature range to bond and cure, so the room generally has to be emptied and warmed up for the job. We'll plan the timing with you before anything starts.
Will the floor be slippery with condensation?
Cold rooms are often damp, so grip matters. Anti-slip texture can be built into the finish, balanced so the floor is still easy to clean.
Can you do the kitchen and the cool room together?
Yes, and planning them as one job often means the business only closes once. Food-grade hygienic flooring is one of our services too.
